Raspberries and Qi

I recently dropped by Hangar One with some friends to see what was up. OK, to taste some vodka... whatever. Anyway, Hangar One is pretty much my house brand, and the fact that the folks over there are so rad is just kind of the icing on the cake. We tasted our way through the regular line-up, in addition to the new basil eau de vi, which was pretty amazing.

QiWhiteBottle72dpi.jpgI ended up adopting a bottle of the Fraser River raspberry vodka, as well as the white tea Qi liqueur. I'd tasted the black Qi before, and liked it, but the white version totally knocked me out with it's notes of spices and orange blossoms. I haven't quite figured out what my plans are for it, but I'm thinking it would rock added to some jasmine tea with lime.

Woot, There It Is!

snacdaddy.jpg
In case you ever needed a Snac Daddy chicken wing server with hideaway bone pile, you can get yours today at Woot.com . Because really, who doesn't need "more bulky, single-purpose plastic stuff?"

Woot mostly sells electronic doo-dads and weird stuff for crazy cheap prices in a "one item a day" format, but their sister site Wine.Woot has pretty good weekly deals on wine, and if you find something you love, you just might be able to snag it by the case from Wine Country Connect.

Gimme The Booty

Seeing as how today is International Talk Like A Pirate Day, it seems appropriate for me to admit my love of Pirate Booty.

A visit to the website reveals that there's a Booty to please just about everyone, including Veggie Booty, Cocoa Booty, and the awesomely-named Fruity Booty.

Chocolatey Bacon Goodness

chocbacon.jpgIndeed I am a big fan of bacon. Excellent on all manner of edibles, I even enjoy the occasional sweet bacon preparation. Thus, I was pleased to discover that Vosges makes Mo's Bacon Bar, a bar of milk chocolate, bacon and smoked salt. Based on my previous candied bacon experiments, I'm curious to see how the bacon flavor holds up. Luckily, there's a shop that carries Vosges chocolates not far from here. I'm already a big fan of Vosges' Red Fire chocolate, with ancho and chipotle chilies, and this bacon bar has certainly piqued my interest.
