Bauer's Top 100 hit the streets yesterday.
Haven't had time to chew on it all yet, but at first glance, I'm impressed so far.
Many of my favorites made the list, although now that I'm looking at it, I think the East Bay might be getting the short end of the stick. Not that I'm surprised, really. San Franciscans can be amazingly provincial when it comes to crossing bodies of water. I suppose I shouldn't complain, though. Waits are getting long enough around here already.
EDIT: Bauer's got a list on his blog of the restaurants added and dropped from the list this year. Expect the typical blog-comment bitch-slappery.
The funniest thing is that when I noticed La Taqueria on the list, I immediately thought of the flack Bauer would catch. Along the lines of "La Taqueria as good as Chez Panisse, no way!" Lo and behold, the very first commenter on the blog misses the point of the list (although it must be said that Bauer's list certainly skews toward the expensive and fancy, which can be poor yardsticks for measuring the "best").
